Sharing tools with my block changed how I tackle home fixes
I used to buy every tool for my projects, which got pricey and took up space. Then I asked my neighbors if they had what I needed for a shelf I was building. It turned out Mr. Johnson had a drill press he barely used, and he was happy to lend it. In return, I helped him set up his new garden beds over the weekend. Now we have a small group where we list tools we can share, like a circular saw or a ladder. This has cut my costs a lot and made our street feel more like a community. If you're stuck on a project, see if someone nearby has the tool before you spend cash.

Could turn into a repair cafe or skill swap too...

Our local library runs a monthly fix-it night where you can bring small appliances. They have volunteers who know how to solder and rewire things, which is super handy. You could totally add a swap table for people to trade skills, like bike repair lessons for help hemming pants. It builds a real barter system in the neighborhood.
