Got told my dog was 'too loud' at the park last Tuesday by some guy in a suit...
Some businessman in loafers said my golden retriever's happy bark was scaring his poodle and now I'm the one sitting quietly on the bench every visit instead of letting her play.

Sitting quietly on the bench instead of letting your dog play is giving that guy exactly what he wanted. Golden retrievers are vocal when they're happy, that's part of the breed. A single bark while playing at the dog park isn't being too loud, that's dogs being dogs. His poodle probably wasn't scared either, some owners just get dramatic about normal dog behavior. You shouldn't have to change your routine because one person in loafers complained once. Take your dog back and let her play, that's what the park is there for.
