That old lady at the 99 cent store who taught me about lightbulbs

I was at the 99 cent store on Ventura Blvd maybe 3 years ago, grabbing some random cleaning spray. This older woman, probably in her 70s, saw me holding a pack of those cheap LED bulbs and just shook her head. She told me 'those will flicker out in two months, get the ones with the yellow box instead'. I laughed it off but bought the yellow box ones anyway. Sure enough, my first pack died after 7 weeks and the yellow ones are still going strong. Has anyone else gotten solid advice from a random stranger in a dollar aisle?

Ventura Blvd store, huh... that's the one near the old pizza place right? I wonder if the same woman is still there because I've been buying the wrong lightbulbs for years. Did she say anything else about why the yellow box ones last longer, or was it just one of those things old people know from trial and error...

Yo same thing happened to me at a hardware store in Burbank. I kept buying the cheap white box bulbs every few months cuz they were like a buck each. Some older guy stocking shelves told me to grab the yellow box ones even if they cost more. He said the yellow box ones have a thicker filament or something inside, not sure the exact science but he was right. I put one in my porch light like 2 years ago and its still going strong. The white box ones I used to get would die every 4 months for sure.
