Concrete slab pour went sideways on my shop build last Saturday... literally

Was out in my backyard in Tacoma trying to get the floor for my new motorcycle garage prepped. Had my buddy Steve help me mix and pour about 2 yards of concrete. Everything looked good until we started screeding and realized the whole thing was sloping about 3 inches from back to front. I didn't check the forms with a level before we started dumping. Had to grab a bunch of 2x4s and scrape off the high side quick before it set. Ended up with a floor that's still off by about half an inch after we patched it. Not perfect but at least my bike won't roll into the wall now. Anyone else had a concrete oops moment that turned out okay?

You mentioned your bike rolling into the wall and that's exactly what I would have been worried about too. I used to think you could always fix slope issues with a self-leveling compound later, but watching how the concrete behaves in the first hour changed my mind on that quickly. Half an inch is rough but honestly if it's functional for your shop that's a win.

100% agree with you @phoenixgonzalez on the self-leveling thing. I thought the same thing until I actually saw how concrete sets up myself. Half an inch is rough but for a shop floor that's totally fine.
