Spent $2,000 on a two-post lift and regret not buying a scissor lift instead

I thought a big two-post lift was the dream for my home garage in Denver. After install costs and realizing it takes up way too much floor space, I can barely walk around my project car. A scissor lift would have let me keep my tools on the walls and still park daily. Now I'm stuck with this massive thing that makes everything cramped. Anyone else go cheap on space planning and pay for it later?

Man I used to be all about the two-post lift, thought anything else was just a compromise. But after helping my buddy swap an engine in his garage with one of those portable scissor lifts, I totally get where you're coming from. He could still walk around the car no problem and his toolboxes stayed put against the wall. Now I'm looking at my setup thinking I made the same mistake you did, wish I'd thought more about how I actually use the space day to day instead of just wanting the biggest thing I could fit.
