I finally stopped flipping my second monitor sideways
For two years I ran portrait mode on my right screen for coding and docs, which worked okay until I started doing more photo editing last month. The color grading was all off because the viewing angle shift made everything look different between monitors. Anyone else run into issues mixing portrait and landscape screens for color-critical work?

Man, that portrait-to-landscape monitor setup feels like you're running two completely different TVs in the same room. I tried that coding-on-one-side docs-on-the-other thing for about a month before I gave up. The color grading thing is real though - my grays on the vertical screen always looked a little purple compared to the horizontal one, so I'd end up with photos that looked fine on one display but totally off on another. Had to finally cave and just accept that my "productivity" monitor was basically a glorified email reader while I did all the real editing on the main screen. Your mileage may vary, but I swear my eyes felt less confused after switching back.

Three weeks into my portrait monitor phase before I realized I was basically colorblind on that screen. My "dark gray" was actually someone else's "muted eggplant.
