Finally saw the payoff after 6 months of waterproofing work on my own house
I redid the foundation drainage around my bungalow in Mill Woods last June, and after this week's heavy rain I checked the crawlspace for the first time since. Bone dry compared to the puddles I used to see every spring. Has anyone else noticed a big difference after tackling their own drainage issues?

I did the same thing to my place a couple years back, and I swear my sump pump threw a party the first time it didn't have to run after a storm. Six months of waterproofing work sounds like a real test of patience, though - I just did a weekend and called it good.

Did you check the vapor barrier under the crawlspace before they sealed things up? A lot of folks skip that and end up with moisture sneaking back in through the ground. I made that mistake once, so now I always tell people to make sure that plastic sheet is done right, it saves you from doing this all over again.
