Question about a squirrel's taste in wire insulation
Had a call for flickering lights in a 1950s bungalow attic last week. Found a nest woven entirely from chewed-up 12/2 Romex, with the copper completely stripped and piled like tiny spools. Anyone ever had to invoice for rodent-induced rewiring?

Charge for materials and labor, it's a full rewire job.

Oh man, my buddy tried to cheap out on a partial rewire for his old house. The electrician he hired just patched a few spots. A year later, his kitchen outlets died, and they found crumbling cloth wiring everywhere behind the walls. Ended up paying twice to open everything up again. Total nightmare. Always better to do the whole job right from the start, right?

But is cloth wiring really that big of a deal if it's still working?
