Vent: My buddy in Seattle said 'a clean panel is a safe panel' and I used to think he was just being picky
I was helping him rewire a kitchen in an old house last week, and we opened a panel that looked like a rat's nest of wires. He pointed at it and said, 'That's not just ugly, it's a fire waiting for a Tuesday.' He spent two extra hours just straightening and labeling everything, which I would have called a waste of time. But watching him work, I realized a messy panel makes it impossible to trace a problem fast when something goes wrong. How many of you actually take the time to make your panels look perfect, or do you just get the power on and move on?

It's like that with most things, the extra effort upfront saves you a world of hurt later.
