Dealing with a weird door lock issue on a 90s Dover in an old office building

Got called out to a 12-story building downtown last Tuesday for a car that kept shutting down. The doors would close, but the car wouldn't run. Traced it back to the door lock circuit on the 10th floor. The roller on the vane was worn down just enough that it wasn't fully tripping the lock relay, but the light was still on. Had to shim the vane plate out about an eighth of an inch with a washer to get a solid pick. Anyone run into a similar fix on those old cam-operated locks?

Yeah, those old cam locks. Had one where the cam itself was cracked, gave a false lock signal every third trip.

That false lock signal is a real headache. I ended up replacing the whole cam assembly after chasing ghosts for a week. The new part finally gave a solid reading every time.

Oh man, that's a classic. Seen that exact thing on a few of those old Dover units. Good call on the shim, that's usually the move.
