TIL my 'junk' drawer has over 200 spare capacitors

lol that happened to me last month. I was sure I was out of 10k resistors, told a guy his amp repair would take a week for parts. Went digging for something else and found a whole tray of them buried under some wire. Felt like an idiot but also saved a bunch of time. Now I try to do a quick scan of the actual stash before I promise any lead times. Saved my butt more than once.

Rant: The day I had to rip out an entire glue-down job in a basement with no windows

Classic move... the old "if I ignore it, maybe the contractor's magic tile will seal the leak from above" strategy. Bet he was hoping the grout would act like a sponge and just... soak it all up forever.

Just realized my old trick for testing dryer thermostats was costing me time

Oh man, @phoenixgonzalez, that's the kind of math I like! Saving 15 minutes per unit adds up crazy fast. You could diagnose three dryers in the time it used to take for two. That's basically a free lunch break you earned right there. Good tools are worth every penny when they give you your time back.

That week we had three kitchens with the same weird corner issue

Adjusting your prep in the shop is smart, but it can backfire if the next job's walls are off in the opposite direction. My crew prefers to measure each corner on site and cut fillers there. It avoids wasting material when the problem isn't exactly the same.

My neighbor told me to skip the line at Fox Bros by going on a Tuesday

Can't believe you got into Fox Bros that fast on any night.
