I think the new safety sensor rule is slowing us down more than it helps

Last Thursday in Cincinnati, a simple door adjustment on a Kone unit took me four hours because the new laser sensors kept faulting. I had to recalibrate them six times after each minor tweak, which felt like overkill for a standard gap issue. My foreman kept saying it's for liability, but it turned a one-hour job into a half-day ordeal. Has anyone found a faster way to get these sensors to hold their setting?

That sensor rule is a real headache, but have you checked if the mounting bracket itself is the problem? Sometimes a tiny bit of flex in the bracket from an old install will throw off the whole laser alignment, so you're fighting a calibration that can't hold. A quick check with a level on the bracket before you even touch the door might save you those extra recalibration rounds. It's the kind of thing the manual never mentions but you learn after the tenth frustrating call.

Actually the manual for our model does mention bracket checks on page 14, but it's easy to miss. Good call on the flex issue though, @paul117, that's definitely the real world fix.
