Hit 1000 glycolic peels this month and finally figured out the trick
I do a lot of peels at my studio and I hit 1000 this past week. For the first 600 or so I was just following the standard timing on the bottle. Then I started timing based on how red the skin got instead of the clock and my client results got way better. Anyone else adjust their peel timing based on visual cues rather than the timer?

Yeah totally agree with the "timing based on how red the skin got" thing. I used to follow the bottle timer religiously but after a few close calls with irritation I started watching the skin's reaction instead and my clients hardly ever peel badly now lol. It's way more reliable than a clock since everyone's skin reacts differently.

Ngl I read somewhere that the pinkness is actually from increased blood flow to the skin which helps the tan develop better. Makes total sense why watching the color works better than just setting a timer.
