Debate: Should you turn off your router every night or just leave it on 24/7, I tested both for a month
Turning it off at midnight and back on at 6 AM cut my power bill by $4 but my smart bulbs kept losing sync, so which side is actually better for reliability?

Why am I the one who'd probably lock my keys in the car and then forget my wifi password?

My buddy turned his off nightly and woke up to dead smart locks and a cold coffee maker.

Yeah, the "dead smart locks" part really gets me. I used to be that guy who bragged about turning everything off at night to save a few cents on the electric bill, thought I was being smart about it. But hearing about someone locked out of their own house because of a power strip switch totally changed my mind. That's a serious safety risk, not just a minor inconvenience. You can live without a warm coffee maker in the morning, but being stuck outside in the dark with no way in is a whole different story. Now I just leave the important stuff on and unplug the little things like phone chargers if I'm worried about it.
