Wasted $45 on a "premium" rolling pin that warped after one use
Honestly, I splurged on a fancy marble rolling pin from a kitchen store downtown thinking it would be perfect for pie dough. After one batch of sugar cookies, it developed a weird curve and now just spins unevenly. Anyone else have luck with basic wooden pins over these overpriced ones?

Hold on, is a slightly warped rolling pin really worth getting this worked up over? Honestly, I've been using the same beat-up wooden one from a garage sale for years and it works fine for cookies and pie crust. Might just be a tiny defect, not the end of the world. Have you tried rolling dough with even pressure instead of leaning on one side?

Man I still have the scar on my thumb from the time I tried to "fix" a warped rolling pin with sandpaper and ended up sanding my own skin instead. Talk about a bad call haha. But honestly you make a good point about even pressure. I think I lean on one side because my left arm is basically useless after years of bad posture from hunching over my laptop. Maybe I just need to work on my technique instead of blaming the rolling pin. Still though, a perfectly straight one would be nice.
