Bought a cheap post hole digger from Harbor Freight and it broke on the third job
Honestly, I lost a full day's work and about $300 in labor because the weld on the handle snapped. It was a simple cedar fence job in Cedar Park. Has anyone found a brand that holds up better without costing a fortune?

Ngl, I feel your pain on that Harbor Freight thing. But look at it this way, how many more fence jobs would you have to lose to make up the cost of a decent tool? Probably just one more. You already lost $300 in labor, so you're already in the hole. Why risk another day? Also, I gotta ask, did you even check the weld before you used it on a paying job, or did you just grab it and go? I'm not trying to be a jerk, I swear, but sometimes you gotta look at the tool before you trust it with your paycheck. That little inspection can save you a lot of headache and money.

Seriously doubt you lost a full day, @nathan_barnes, but cheap tools WILL cost you more in the end. That broken weld is a classic Harbor Freight story. Spend a little more on something like an Ames next time.
