Switching to a string line for every install, my experience so far

I used to skip the string line often (figured I could eye it, you know). After a bad job where posts were crooked, I made myself use it on every project this season. Now, my fences are straighter and clients stop complaining, which is huge. But setting it up takes extra minutes each time, and my crew grumbles. Has anyone found a way to speed this step up without messing up the line? I'm thinking this habit is worth it, but I'd like your take on balancing speed and quality.

Once you get the routine down, setting the line gets faster. But SKIPPING it is how you get callbacks, and nobody wants that.

Guess it depends on the job, daniel_barnes94, but sometimes you gotta trust your eye.

Listen, your crew's grumbling is nothing next to client meltdowns over a wavy fence! Skipping the string is basically inviting callbacks for dinner, and nobody wants that extra guest. Stick with it, those few minutes now save you from a world of pain later!
