My sourdough starter hit 200% rise in under 4 hours and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a sign I messed up.

200% rise sounds amazing, but isn't that crazy fast? I once had a starter go nuts like that and it tasted weirdly sour.

Could be the flour type, some brands ferment way faster.

My friend's starter did that once and her bread came out flat. She switched to a cooler spot and it slowed down.
