Getting tired of people praising single-threaded speed over everything else
I saw a benchmark last week where an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X totally smoked an Intel i9-14900K in multi-core work by about 22%. But then everyone in the comments kept saying single-thread is what matters for gaming. I run deliveries and logging software all day across 32 threads and that speed difference saves me real time. Has anyone else found that real world multi-thread wins get ignored way too much?

Yeah but here's the thing nobody talks about - single thread scores are easy to market because they're simple numbers people can compare. Real world multi-thread scaling depends so much on how your software is coded and what scheduler you're running. I've seen chips that bench great but stutter on real workloads because the scheduler doesn't know how to feed all those threads properly.

Oh man, I feel you. Multithreaded wins are huge if your workload can actually use them. I'd look at your task manager during peak hours and see which apps are actually hungry for all those cores. Might help you decide if a future upgrade is worth it.
