inBought a $3 cork sheet and it saved my desk from coffee rings
Paper towel for a coaster? That's wild, @oliver_ward14. I've seen guys at the pub use napkins, but they end up with soggy rings on the table anyway. You're right about cork though, my buddy had a set that went fuzzy with mold in like two weeks (gross). I'd rather just grab a ceramic coaster and be done with it, no fuss.

inAm I the only one who thinks fleece tugs are way overrated for dogs who actually chew?
With all due respect I've used fleece tug toys for years with my own dogs and never had a single issue with fibers coming apart like you're describing. The cheap stuff from craft stores definitely falls apart but quality fleece from places that make dog gear actually holds up pretty well. I think people are way too quick to dismiss it because they bought the wrong kind once. Canvas is definitely tougher but it's also heavier and some dogs don't like the feel of it as much. Fleece has that soft grip that a lot of dogs prefer for tugging.

inRant: My brand new table saw fence was off by 1/16th and I almost sent it back
Man, that exact thing happened to me with my jointer last year.

inHeads up about those cheap bookbinding kits on Amazon
Yeah, that watered down PVA is a real problem with those kits... I've seen it happen to a few people now. A quick test is to dab a tiny bit on a scrap piece of paper and let it dry overnight, if it peels off clean like a sticker then it's garbage. Best bet is to just buy Lineco or Planatol direct from a proper art supply store, the extra few bucks saves you from wrecking your work.

inUsed to think moss was just a weed until my 5 day trip to the Olympic rainforest
Yeah, no kidding. My buddy Dave used to pressure wash his whole brick patio twice a year to kill the moss. Then he went on a trip to the Pacific Northwest and saw it covering whole forests. He came back and now he just lets it grow on the shady side of his house. Says it looks more natural and the birds use it for nesting material. Funny how a hike can change your whole outlook on something you used to fight all the time. @charlesowens you hit the nail on the head with that Hoh experience, it really does put things in perspective.
