Changed my mind about using a heat gun on vinyl plank in a cold garage
I always thought letting the planks warm up in the house was enough, but a job in Duluth last January proved me wrong. I spent an extra hour with a heat gun on the locking edges before clicking them together and the whole floor went down without a single pop or gap. What's your go-to method for cold weather installs?

It's funny how often the extra step you think is overkill ends up being the one that saves the whole job.

Ever have that moment where you skip the extra step and instantly regret it? @paul233 is totally right, it's always the backup you didn't want to do that catches the big mistake. Like double checking a measurement or saving a file with a new version name. Feels like a waste of time until it's the only thing that saves you.

Has anyone else had that happen with something mundane like zipping a file before sending? I forgot once and ended up corrupting the whole thing, had to redo everything from scratch. Now I always double check even when it feels pointless, lol.
