Vent: I swear by using a regular utility knife for cutting laminate instead of a specialty cutter

Honestly, most guys I work with think I'm nuts for skipping the fancy laminate cutters. Tbh, a sharp utility knife and a straight edge give me more control for tricky angles. Ngl, I just finished a whole house where the specialty tool kept jamming on the brand's locking system. With my method, I can make quick adjustments without swapping blades or clearing debris. I know it sounds old school, but it saves me time and frustration on every job. Does anyone else stick to basic tools, or am I alone on this?

Those specialty cutters give much cleaner lines on long runs though.

My last attempt at a long cut with regular snips looked like a kindergartner went at it with safety scissors. The angles were all over the place. You're totally right about the clean lines, I just have to accept I'm not skilled enough to cheat the tool setup. Learned that the hard way on a baseboard project.

Yeah @ramirez.tara, scoring it first changed everything for my last project.
