My grandma's handwritten 'sugar pie' recipe from 1950s Ontario calls for a full cup of vinegar, and everyone who leaves it out gets a weird, gummy mess.

A buddy of mine tried something similar a few years back, swore by a cup of vinegar in a warm water rinse once a week. He said his sinuses felt clearer than they had in years, but man, the smell lingered in his bathroom for hours. His wife made him do it when she was out, said the whole house smelled like a pickle factory. He stuck with it for a few months until he got tired of the smell, but he still talks about how it helped his allergies.
