Can we talk about the worst game night host ever?

Last Friday, my buddy Dave said he'd host but didn't set anything up. We showed up at 8 and he was still doing laundry. He pulled out a game with a 90-minute setup and then his cat knocked the whole board over after 20 minutes of play. We ended up just watching a movie instead. Anyone else have a game night totally derailed by a bad host?

Honestly, @the_thomas, the movie was a total mess. They took a cool game idea and just made another generic monster flick. The characters were flat, the plot made no sense, and the ending felt rushed. It's a shame because the game's story had so much potential for a good movie. This just felt like a cheap copy.

Ugh, that's the worst. Reminds me of that book series they turned into a show last year. Same thing. Great story got turned into something boring and safe. They always miss the point. Jana_henderson52 is right, it's such a waste. They had all the good stuff from the game and just... ignored it. Makes you not want to get excited for anything anymore.
