Spent 4 hours trying to get my kid's crayon drawing off the fridge without ruining it

My 6 year old daughter Lily drew this amazing rainbow unicorn on a piece of printer paper and stuck it to the fridge with a glob of super glue by accident. I wanted to save it for her scrapbook but that glue held on like concrete. I tried soaking it with warm water for 20 minutes, nothing. I used a hair dryer thinking the heat would loosen it, but the paper started curling. After 45 minutes of prying with a butter knife I almost tore the thing in half. I finally got it off by rubbing cooking oil around the edges and letting it sit for an hour. The whole ordeal took over 4 hours for one dumb drawing. Has anyone else dealt with a kid using the wrong adhesive on their fridge art?

Wait, did you say SUPER GLUE? Like the little tube of cyanoacrylate glue? That stuff is basically industrial strength, your poor fridge is probably still sticky. I would have just cut the paper around the glue blob and called it a day, four hours is INSANE for a six year old's drawing.

...and here I thought I was bad at craft projects, but you win the glue war medal honestly. I once used spray adhesive to mount my daughter's artwork on the fridge and it took me three days and a whole bottle of goo-gone to get it off without ripping the paper. Your cooking oil trick is genius, I'm filing that one away for next time Lily upgrades to epoxy. Four hours for one unicorn drawing sounds about right though, I've definitely wasted whole afternoons trying to preserve my kid's masterpieces (and then she drew over them the next week anyway).
