Rant: Paid promotions are flooding tech reports

I read a report on a new speaker last month that praised it endlessly. When I got one, the sound quality was poor and it broke quickly. It feels like some writers are just pushing products for money.

I read a piece about how some tech sites get paid to leave out bad points in reviews. It made me so mad because now I double check everything before buying. You have to look for real user comments on forums or video reviews that show flaws. When money is involved, the truth gets buried and we all lose. How do you even find honest opinions these days?

Yeah that "endless praise" is a dead giveaway. Those reviews are just ads with extra steps at this point. Can't trust anything that reads like a sales pitch.

Wait, they get paid to leave out the bad stuff? That's wild. I saw a review last week for a blender that called it "life changing" and I almost bought it. Now I'm side-eyeing every perfect score I see. It makes you doubt everything, you know? I just end up reading like ten different places before I click buy.
