That question about smooth rocks is a great opener. We did a vinegar test on some chalk to show how water wears stuff down, totally clicked for my kid.

Did you try coke instead? Always wondered how that compares to vinegar.

Did you use regular white chalk or the sidewalk kind? The texture difference might change how fast it breaks down. I'm curious if one works better for the demo.
