Custom paint on my dump truck changed my view on color and engine heat

Everyone at the shop claims dark paint makes engines overheat, but my black truck stays cooler than the light ones. I spent last month on the paint job and found that proper coating matters more than shade.

Just because your black truck runs cool doesn't mean color isn't a big deal. Dark paint soaks up way more heat from the sun, that's basic science. Your special coating might help, but most regular paints will show a huge difference.

Look, @mason_knight isn't wrong about the science. Tbh, my black sedan feels like an oven in summer. So color totally matters for heat.
