TIL my upstairs neighbor hates my morning jump rope sessions
He complained about the constant thumping. Some folks think home workouts should be silent, others say live your life. How do you handle noise issues with neighbors?

SERIOUSLY, your neighbor hates jump rope? Wait until they hear my 6 AM blender smoothie routine! Maybe you should offer to switch to silent jumping, like on a moon bounce in the living room. I mean, apartment living comes with some thumping, but jump rope is practically ZEN compared to most workouts. That'd REALLY solve the noise issue, right?

Does your neighbor think apartment floors stop all noise? I've had people get upset over my late night fridge raids, but morning jump rope seems almost polite. You could offer to let them join in, make it a group activity. They might still grumble, but then the thumping is a team effort. Or just take your workout to the basement if you have one. I had to do that with my loud music habits.

Apartment living means you hear everything, for sure. My old upstairs neighbor did early morning workouts, and the thumping drove me crazy until I saw she was just staying fit. I started doing my own noisy things at okay times, like vacuuming at noon, and we got used to each other. The idea to invite them to join is clever, but some folks just like to grumble. Really, using a basement or common area is the best way to avoid fights.
