Spent $22 on a Yankee candle and found a 2-year-old gas receipt under it
I finally cleaned out the kitchen junk drawer yesterday and found this receipt for $4.87 of gas from 2022 shoved behind a candle I barely even lit. Has anyone else used your junk drawer as a weird time capsule by accident?
Oh man that's wild! I bet that receipt has got to be worth more than the candle at this point haha. But here's a thing I haven't seen anyone mention - what if that gas receipt was from a gas station that closed down or changed names since 2022? That candle could be sitting on a piece of local history you never even noticed. I found a napkin from a diner in my junk drawer that went out of business like 5 years ago and it felt like I was holding a tiny little artifact. Just imagine how many times you walked past that receipt without realizing it was a snapshot of a specific moment in time.
