Almost ruined a gas station run in Texas with a bad combo
Was at a Buc-ee's outside Houston last month and tried dipping beef jerky into their fountain Dr Pepper. The salt and carbonation made it fizz weird, nearly choked. Anyone else have a convenience store pairing backfire on them?

That's funny because I actually think that combo could work if you let the jerky sit in the Dr Pepper for a minute first... the salt cuts the sweetness and the carbonation softens the chew just a little. The real mistake at Buc-ee's is mixing their brisket sandwich with that spicy pickle brine they have at the condiment bar, that's a stomachache waiting to happen.

Man I’d try that jerky trick just to feel like a mad scientist at a gas station. The brisket and spicy pickle brine thing sounds like a dare your buddy gives you after a long drive. My stomach would regret it before I even finished the sandwich.
