TIL pretzel rods dipped in cream cheese frosting is way better than the bagel version I grew up with

I used to just eat bagels with cream cheese for breakfast until last Saturday when I ran out of bagels and tried leftover pretzel rods from a party pack with the frosting from a tub of store-bought stuff, and now I can’t go back because the salty crunch beats a chewy bagel any day. Has anyone else swapped their base for a weird junk food twist like this?

Keep a bag of pretzel rods on hand and just dip them into the cream cheese straight up. It's a solid breakfast hack when you're in a hurry and it travels well if you wrap them in a paper towel.

Oh yeah, the "wrap em in a paper towel" trick is smart. I used to do something similar with celery and peanut butter but the pretzel rods sound way less messy. Actually, gavin_allen48, your comment reminds me of this time I was stuck in a traffic jam and ended up eating a whole sleeve of saltines with cream cheese just to stay awake. Not proud of it but it worked.
