Dropped $45 on those fancy 'no-tie' shoelaces

Thought they'd save me time before runs. First mile and they came loose. Tried tightening them at the park bench in Boulder. By mile three the plastic lock thing cracked. Stuck with soggy laces and had to finish the loop tying them like normal. Anybody find a pair that actually holds?

Haha I feel your pain! I went through three pairs of those things before I gave up. The last pair I bought actually stayed put for about two weeks, then the mechanism froze up mid-run and I had to yank them off in the parking lot like a lunatic. Now I just double knot my regular laces and call it a day. My boyfriend makes fun of me for still rocking the same $5 pair from 2018 but at least they never fail me.
