I finally stopped rolling my eyes at small claims court cases

I used to think those $50 disputes people take to small claims were a waste of time... until my landlord tried to keep my full $800 deposit for a scratch I didn't make. I filed a claim last month in Austin and the judge actually listened to my photos as evidence. Got $650 back after showing the scratch was pre-existing from move-in. Has anyone else had a small claims win that changed how you see the system?

My EXACT same opinion changed after I took my mechanic to small claims for a $300 repair that failed.

A $300 repair really got you that fired up?
