Picked up a trick for fixing wobbly table legs at a garage sale last Saturday
I was at this garage sale in Oak Park and this older guy was selling a old wooden desk with one leg that turned just a little. He pulled out a popsicle stick and a hammer and showed me how to tap it under the leg joint to level it out. No glue, no clamps, just wedging it in and snapping off the extra. Took him about 45 seconds. Has anyone else tried that method for furniture that rocks?

Oh boy, does this bring back memories! I tried this trick once with a kitchen chair that was driving me nuts. I grabbed a craft stick and everything, felt so clever. Then I misjudged the angle and the whole leg popped right off the chair. There I was, flat on the floor with a piece of wood in my hand and a lump on my hip. It worked eventually but my pride was bruised for a week. The guy at that garage sale must have been a pro because mine took way more than 45 seconds and a few colorful words. Now I just keep a stack of those sticks by the tool box, ready for round two.
