I finally stopped using that stale "Drake Hotline Bling" template after someone called me out

This guy in the comments said my remix felt lazy because I kept using the same 3 year old format. I switched to the "Distracted Boyfriend" layout instead and got 50 more upvotes. Anyone else get roasted into changing their go-to template?

Is it just me or does getting roasted actually force you to level up in weird ways? I noticed the same thing with my cooking instagram when someone told me my lighting was trash, ended up actually learning about composition and now my food pics don't look like they were taken in a cave. Sometimes the harsh truth is the only thing that breaks you out of a comfortable rut you didn't even realize you were stuck in.

Man, I've been there. Getting called out stings but honestly it forced me to stop being lazy with my formats. Once I started mixing in different meme layouts based on the actual joke instead of forcing everything into one template, my engagement actually went up.
