Finally figured out the 'real' timeline in that one horror movie after 3 rewatches

I was watching The Cabin in the Woods again last night and I always thought the ending was just random chaos. But then I found a breakdown on some forum that pointed out the facility scenes actually happen at the same time as the cabin stuff, just with a time skip in the middle. I dug into the directors' commentary and they confirmed the whole thing loops back on itself if you track the clocks in the background. Has anyone else caught hidden timeline clues like that in other movies?

You are reading WAY too much into a movie that is just supposed to be fun.

Funny you mention that, reminds me of when I watched Primer for the first time. I was so lost I had to draw out a map on a napkin just to figure out who was where and when. By the third viewing I found this old blog where the guy had color coded the whole timeline on a spreadsheet. Turns out there's a split second where you can see a character walk past a window in the background of a scene that should be two days earlier. I showed my brother and he just said I needed to get a hobby.
