Rant: It took me 3 watches to realize 'Tenet' actually has a forward timeline

I kept pausing and rewinding trying to follow the inverted stuff until I caught that the whole movie is just Neil moving backwards through the protagonist's life, and that simple shift made the ending hit way different.

Did you notice how the Protagonist's free will is actually an illusion since Neil already knew the whole plan?

The thing is Neil knowing the plan doesn't take away the Protagonist's free will. He still has to make the choices in the moment even if Neil already saw them happen. That's the whole point of the movie - knowledge of the future doesn't mean you control it. The Protagonist chooses to recruit Neil, to set up the inversion tech, to save the world. Neil just got to see the results of those choices from the other direction.
