Hot take: I actually liked the new 'Halloween Ends' movie and I'm tired of pretending it was bad

I watched it last Saturday at my buddy's place in Denver and that whole scene in the sewer with Michael just sitting there felt raw and real to me, not stupid. Everyone says the plot went nowhere but isn't that how some real horror stories play out? Has anyone else actually enjoyed a movie that everyone online trashed?

The plot went nowhere" is exactly why I hated it, man. Look at the scene you brought up - Michael sitting in the sewer. That's not raw, that's lazy. It's like the writers gave up halfway through and just threw him down there to look creepy. Compare that to the original where he's this unstoppable force stalking through houses. Here he's just a dude chilling in a drain pipe. And don't get me started on Corey being the new killer. That whole switch where Michael lost his edge and some random guy took over felt like a bait and switch. I paid to see Michael Myers not some wannabe. The opening credits got me hyped with that classic theme, but then the movie just fell apart.

Yeah this is just how stuff goes now. Everything's got to be a twist or a legacy bait and switch instead of just being good on its own, like ordering a burger and getting a salad with a burger crumbled on top.
