The block party signup sheet has been lying to us for 3 years

Last Saturday I noticed our street's potluck signup sheet had 8 salads listed and not a single grill master signed up for the main dish. Turns out people keep putting 'chips and dip' in the sides column because that's where the blank lines are, and nobody reads the category headers. I've been organizing this thing since 2021 and finally saw it when old Mrs. Delgado wrote 'kielbasa' under desserts. We missed out on three years of actual mains because the form layout was bad, not because folks weren't willing to cook. I redid it this morning with colored columns and raised the main dish section to the top, and already 4 neighbors signed up for ribs and burgers. Has anyone else had a simple flyer or signup sheet quietly ruin an event for years before you caught it?

Kielbasa in desserts is why we can't trust blank lines, somebody get that woman a fresh form before she ruins the jello salad.
