Vent: The day my ant farm became a crawling carpet

I was sitting in my living room last Tuesday when the ant farm seal split from a hairline crack. Suddenly 3,000 harvester ants were marching across my rug and up the wall like a tiny army. How do you even begin rounding up that many escapees without losing your mind?

Hang on, 3,000 ants? Did you actually count them or are you just guessing? Seems like a pretty big number to throw around when we're talking about bugs that probably came from a kids toy. I mean, I get that ants in your house aren't fun, but calling it a "crawling carpet" feels like a bit much. Just vacuum them up or put a line of diatomaceous earth down, it's not exactly a natural disaster. You'll survive this.

crawling carpet" does sound a bit dramatic but honestly ive seen ant trails in kitchens that look just like that. not saying you need to panic but 3000 ants is like a whole colony situation, not just a few stragglers. de is good but sometimes you gotta call someone if they keep comin back.
