Finally beat that one level in Spyro the Dragon with a weird trick

I was stuck on the tree tops level in Spyro for ages until I realized you can charge jump off a specific ledge to skip half the platforms. Took me maybe 20 tries to time it right but it saved like 10 minutes of backtracking. Has anyone else found a shortcut that totally changes how a level feels?

but like... sometimes the "right way" is just frustrating, not fun. if a shortcut lets you skip annoying backtracking, who cares if it's a glitch? that's what old games are all about, finding weird tricks. i'd rather beat the level with a funny cheat than spend an hour going in circles.

Aw man, I gotta disagree. Those tree tops levels are built for a reason. Skipping half the platforms ruins the whole flow. The challenge is learning the proper route, not cheesing it with a glitchy jump. Also, you might miss some gems or eggs up there if you skip around. I spent an hour hunting for one after taking a shortcut. Had to restart the whole level. Spyro levels are designed carefully. Respect the design. It's more satisfying to do it the right way, even if it takes longer.
