Unpopular take: I actually like when people chew loudly

Last Tuesday at the diner on 5th Street, this guy next to me was smacking his eggs and toast like it was a competition. Everyone online acts like that's the worst thing ever, but honestly, I found it kind of comforting. It meant he was really enjoying his food, and it gave me white noise to think about my budget spreadsheet. I've tried the whole noise-canceling earplug thing for 3 years, and it just makes me feel isolated. Am I the only one who doesn't hate messy eaters, or do you have a sound that everyone else hates but you secretly like?
