Paid $75 for a 'professional' pet photographer and got photos that look like my cat was mid-sneeze
She promised magazine quality shots but my cat blinked at the exact wrong moment in every single one and now I have 30 prints of a furry blur with demon eyes. Anyone else throw money at something just to end up with worse results than your phone camera?

Oh geez, that's rough. A friend of mine paid $200 for newborn photos and the photographer's flash kept startling the baby, so all 50 shots were just a screaming red-faced potato with flailing arms. She ended up using a blurry iPhone photo from their first week home because it was the only one where the kid looked like a human being. Made me wonder if these "professionals" even know how to work with living subjects anymore.

The flash thing drives me nuts... babies don't need extra light like that, their eyes are super sensitive those first few weeks. Actually most newborn photographers will tell you to ditch the flash entirely and just use window light. My cousin spent like $300 on a "professional" shoot and the photographer had them posing the baby on a beanbag with a fuzzy hat that kept slipping over his eyes. Every single photo looked like a confused little mushroom. Ended up just framing a photo from the hospital with the ugly bassinet they provide... worked better than the expensive ones honestly.
