Pro tip: that porch cushion drying hack everyone swears by ruined mine

Everyone on here says to stand porch cushions on their side to dry so they dont get moldy underneath. I did that for 3 years and my cushions still got musty. Then last summer at a BBQ at my buddy's house in Portland I saw he just leans his against the rail at a 45 degree angle facing the sun. Tried it and my cushions dried out completely in one afternoon. No more flipping them up and down like a fool. Has anyone else found the "stand them up" advice doesnt actually work?

My buddy in Eugene tried the stand-up method for two summers and his cushions went green underneath. He switched to leaning them against his deck posts and they've been bone dry ever since.
