Serious question, has your porch crate ever failed you

My neighbor Dale stopped me last Wednesday on his way to grab his mail and told me his golden retriever pushed right through the screened porch door and chased a squirrel into the street. He said the clips on the bottom of his folding crate gave out after just three months of use. Has anyone else had a flimsy porch setup almost lead to a disaster like that?

My buddy Ryan had one of those from the same place, the one with the plastic clips on the corners. His little beagle mix hit the side one time and the whole front panel just popped out like it was nothing. He ended up having to secure it with bungee cords and a couple of carabiners just to keep it standing until he could replace it. I don't know why they even sell those things with such cheap hardware, it's like they expect the wind to be the only thing pushing on it.

Man that's rough... poor Dale. My buddy had a similar thing happen with his lab mix and one of those cheaper folding crates from the big box store. The latch just popped right off when the dog leaned into it. Ended up having to zip tie the whole thing together just to get through the season.
