Why does nobody talk about anchovy juice splashing in your eye

I was at Pizza Palace in Denver last Friday loading anchovies on my slice when the little tin of oil and juice just exploded straight into my left eye. Blinked like crazy while my buddy laughed and handed me a napkin that smelled like a fish market. Anyone else have a pizza topping moment that turned into a minor injury?

And that's exactly the kind of thing that makes me think we all just accept a certain amount of minor chaos in our daily routines. You don't realize how many small explosions are waiting in your food until one hits you right in the eye. It's like we've all got these unspoken agreements with our meals that sometimes they fight back and we just have to deal.

My buddy once got squirted by a lemon wedge so hard it hit the back of his throat and he couldn't taste anything for a week. We still give him grief about it every time we order drinks.
