Rant: My neighbor tried to 'charm' buyers with his pet parrot during a showing

So my friend was selling his condo and asked me to tag along for moral support. During a key showing, his next-door neighbor, an older guy named Bob, decided to join in uninvited. Bob brought his loud, colorful parrot on his shoulder, claiming it would make the place feel 'lively and unique'. The bird kept squawking and repeating Bob's weird jokes about the plumbing, which totally freaked out the young couple looking. I mean, idk, maybe it's just me but you don't need live entertainment during a walkthrough. It was so absurd we had to cut the tour short. Always set clear boundaries with neighbors before listing your property, trust me.

Yeah, (been there) keep neighbors out like @betty213 said.

Back in Phoenix, I knew a realtor who had to stop neighbors from joining showings after too many headaches. It's a regular problem where people cross lines during important times.

I used to think a friendly neighbor was a plus during a showing. But after seeing a similar 'helpful' moment totally derail a sale, I changed my mind. That kind of surprise is the last thing you need when trying to close a deal.
