That time I rolled three natural 1s in a row at a convention game in Indianapolis
Last summer I was at Gen Con running a one-shot for some randoms. My rogue tried to pick a lock on a treasure chest and rolled a nat 1. Then I tried to disarm the trap and got another nat 1. The DM laughed and said I could try to just open the chest carefully. I grabbed the dice, took a breath, and rolled a third straight 1. My character's hand got stuck in a jar of honey inside the chest and the goblins heard us. It turned into this whole chase scene where I had to swing from a chandelier with a jar on my hand. Has anyone else ever had a bad luck streak that actually made the session more memorable?

Geez, that's a legendary streak for all the wrong reasons! But honestly, that honey jar trap sounds like a perfect DM move. Did the chandelier swing actually work out okay, or did you end up covered in sticky goo and dangling there while the goblins took turns poking at you? I feel like those awful rolls can turn into the best stories, but only if the DM runs with it instead of just making you fail boringly. Like, did you at least get to keep the honey jar as a weird trophy?

Ngl, this whole situation reminds me of how life hands you those epic fails that somehow become the best memories. Like when you try to cook a complicated meal and it turns into a kitchen disaster, but everyone laughs about it for years. Those sticky, awkward moments are what make the story worth telling, not the times everything goes perfectly.
