Hot take: Wax melts beat candles for scent in my house

My sister swears by candles, but I switched to wax melts about 6 months ago and won't go back. The smell from a candle burner just doesn't fill my whole living room like a warmer does, especially in our drafty old place. Plus I got a $10 warmer at Walmart and a pack of melts for $4, and they last way longer than a $10 candle. Has anyone else made the switch and noticed a difference?

Oh man, that is seriously scary. @lane.drew I'm glad your sister caught it before it got worse. A warmer seems harmless until something goes wrong, especially if the cord or the plate gets too hot. I've heard of people leaving them on overnight or forgetting to unplug them, and that's just asking for trouble. Hope she's okay and nothing major got damaged. Honestly, it makes you think twice about trusting those things to run for hours unattended.
